Yes. But then again, it may be sufficient for many users not to support
the entire X.500 information model. I suspect that more important would be
support for sending change notifications to a "real" LDAP server and, to
actually justify having an LDAP front-end at all, support for writing to
the directory (at least for things like changing passwords). Unfortunately
the Java LDAP server we used has been turned into commercial software, so
it has been more or less abandoned as far as I am aware.
