Hi, welcome to the ganymede-dev email list.

The ganymede-dev list is designed to be a place for complete, in-depth
technical discussions of the Ganymede network directory management
software.  My hope is that people will over time use this list for
extensive discussions about specific bugs, misfeatures, and code
patches for Ganymede.  This list is for people who are interested in
actually hacking the Ganymede code, developing schema kits, and the
like.  No code excerpt is too long, no bug is too small to be
discussed to death on this list.

My goal is that no one will send me email to my personal email address
concerning technical issues with Ganymede anymore, no matter how
involved.  I want all such mail to go on this list so that the
questions and answers can be archived on the Ganymede web site and so
that others can benefit from whatever problems are worked out on
this list.

I am not expecting this list to get much traffic in the near term, but
when discussions do arise on this list, I want to be able to pursue
them to whatever level of detail may be required.  As such, I'm
expecting this list to have a higher level of traffic than the
original "Ganymede Discussion" list, although the traffic will
probably be more bursty than constant.  

Because I expect this list to be low traffic for a good while, I have
subscribed everyone who is on the (very low traffic) Ganymede
discussion list to this list.  Please do go ahead and unsubscribe if
you have no interest in detailed technical discussion relating to
Ganymede.

The existing ganymede discussion list will be left up, but will
probably eventually go away in favor of ganymede-dev and the new
ganymede-help list.
